🛸 How to Play HypeFlight

HypeFlight is not meant to be a serious competitive game.
It’s a playful experiment and proof of concept showing what’s possible when
real-time heart rate and G-force data become part of gameplay.

This arcade shooter demonstrates how bio-feedback can directly influence difficulty, controls, and player experience — all powered by HypeRate
(and yes, we have an APIfor this 😉).

❤️🎮 Core Idea

Heart Rate = Difficulty
G-Force = Controls
Collisions end runs

🚀 1) Getting Started

  • 📱 Install the HypeRate App (App Store)

  • ❤️ Start a session in HypeRate
Begin a Heart Rate session + an IRL session (any activity)

  • 🆓 Activate the in-app purchase
Includes 7 days free, then continues as selected in the app

  • 🔑 Enter your HypeRate ID
Input your ID in HypeFlight to connect your bio-feedback data

  • 🛸 Select your UFO
Each UFO has different stats: speed, handling, and armor

🎮 2) Controls

Your UFO is controlled by your device’s G-force data:

  • ⬆️⬇️ Pitch — vertical movement

  • ⬅️➡️ Roll — horizontal movement & rotation

  • 🔄 Yaw — steering / turning

  • 🔫 Fire weapon
    Pitch your device down
    (example threshold: pitch < -0.3)

🧠 3) Gameplay

  • ❤️ Heart Rate controls difficulty

    • 🔥 Higher HR → more enemies & tougher types

    • 😌 Lower HR → fewer enemies & simpler waves

  • 👾 Enemies fly in from the right — destroy them to score points

  • Power-Ups grant temporary advantages:

    • 🔫 Weapon Upgrade — stronger shots & wider spread

    • 🛡️ Shield — temporary invincibility

    • ⚡ Speed Boost — faster movement

    • 💣 Nuke — destroys all visible enemies

💥 4) Game Over

  • Your run ends if you collide with an enemy while your shield is inactive

🏆 5) After Game Over

  • 🥇 Highscores
If you reach a top score, enter your name to save it

  • 🔁 Restart
Replay with your current UFO or return to the selection screen

✅ Quick Checklist

  • ✔️ HypeRate session running

  • ✔️ Correct HypeRate ID entered

  • ✔️ Motion / sensor permissions allowed

  • ✔️ Tap or click once if audio doesn’t start (browser policy)

💡 Tip: If the game feels too intense, steady your breathing —
a lower heart rate reduces enemy spawn pressure.
